Laura graduated with honours in Advanced Massage Therapy from CDI in 2015 and has been an RMT at Maloney Elkassem Wellness since.
Through her years practicing Massage Therapy, she’s embraced that all people are vastly different and enjoys figuring out how to help each individual and create a realistic treatment plan together.
Laura offers therapeutic massage, deep tissue, relaxation massage, and myofascial cupping to help aid in your daily pain and injuries but quite often likes to mix relaxation techniques with therapeutic treatments. Clients get the full benefits of both styles of treatment.

Dr. Elkassem completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Biology. Following that, he graduated with honours from the New York Chiropractic College in 2005. Dr. Elkassem was honoured with numerous academic awards including being a 5 time recipient of the NYCC Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship, a 5 time recipient of the NYCC International Scholarship award and culminating with his induction into the Phi Chi Omega Chiropractic Honours Society.

As a student athlete, Monica was drawn to study physical therapy after she saw first hand how important receiving excellent care was to help her recover from injuries and stay healthy. As a result of this experience, Monica is passionate about how physiotherapy can help make the world a better place and she does her best to make a difference, both for the patients she cares for as well as giving back to the profession through her work in the university program.
Monica graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta and continued her education at the U of A, earning a Masters in Physical Therapy (MScPT).
Following her graduation, Monica continued her education, becoming certified in Medical Acupuncture, and later certified in the GLA:D rehab program for knee and hip osteoarthritis. Monica continues to enhance her skills, as she is currently working towards a specialization in Manipulative Therapy.
Monica has substantial experience in general musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, including more complex post-operative rehabilitation, motor vehicle accident (MVA) injury rehab and sports injuries. In addition to her own athletic experience, she has worked with the U of A Pandas soccer team.
Monica is both experienced in and enjoys helping infants and children with pediatric issues like torticollis, head shape abnormalities and toe walking or gross motor deficiencies.
She also enjoys helping seniors stay healthy, pain free and active, and recover from injuries.
Monica employs a variety of treatment modalities to enhance patient care, including manual therapy, shockwave therapy, laser therapy, ultrasound and functional exercises. As a chiropractor, Dr. Kevin Maloney has a wealth of experience that enables him to help patients recover from a wide assortment of injuries. However, it may be his warm, relaxed demeanor that truly puts his patients at ease. He credits his father, a retired chiropractor, with teaching him good ‘bedside manner’.

Nhu is a licensed acupuncturist in good standing with the College and Association of Acupuncturist of Alberta. She has been passionate about healthcare from an early age. Through her travels she quickly gravitated towards the more natural and holistic avenues of health. While attending her acupuncture studies at Grant Macewan University, Nhu had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to partake in an internship with the acclaimed Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. Through her international studies, Nhu has always aimed to bridge the timeless traditions of Acupuncture with modern advances within the practice.
